Itinerary*

Day 1: Arrival in Livingstone

Today you have leisure time: visit the Vic Falls, do a helicopter flight, experience under the spray, or bargain at a souvenir market.

We stay in beautiful chalets or comfortable tents.

Dinner at own expense in a restaurant.

Day 2: Munyangwe or Bovu Island (Zambezi River)

The Upper Zambezi near the Victoria Falls is famous for its marvelous landscaper. Along the river there are National Parks and many animals come close to drink.

In the afternoon we do a downstream boats tour (river float with our rafts) to an island on the Zambezi River.

Overnight stay in a bush camp on the island.

Day 3 and 4: Kariba dam

The western part of the Kariba dam is the most beautiful part with numerous islands populated by lots of animals. We visit a crocodile farm (the second biggest in the world), do a boat trip between the islands and a game drive. We might see eland, reedbuck, elephants and buffalos. Numerous species of birds can also be observed!

Tonight we sleep in comfortable tents.

Day 5, 6 and 7: Lower Zambezi Park and Zambezi River

Visiting the Lower Zambezi Park is one of the highlights on a tour in Zambia.

We explore one of the most beautiful areas with lots of different animals.

The Zambezi River on one side and the Escarpment on the other will guarantee many great pictures.

We sleep in big tents right on the banks of the river.

Day 8: Lusaka

We continue our tour to Lusaka. Here you can do some shopping in the city or enjoy a relaxed afternoon in the lodge.

We stay in a comfortable lodge near the city.

Dinner at own expense in a restaurant.

Day 9: Katete (Tikandane Project)

Near Katete the German speaking Elke Kröger-Radcluffe supervises the Tikondane Project. Here social work is done to support the population in the area. We also have the opportunity to learn something about the locals: about social problems, daily life and the African culture and mentality.

A very important element of the Chewa culture is the so called Gule Wamkulu dance (was declared as World Cultural Heritage in 2005). The dance is explained and probably they will dance it spontaneously.

We sleep in big comfortable tents in the Tikondane (Camp Adventure Purists Camp).

Day 10 – 13: Luangwa River (South Luangwa Park)

South Luangwa National Park is one of the most beautiful parks in Africa.

Here you can see big herds of elephants and buffalos, thornycroft’s giraffes, cookson´s wildebeest, croswhay´s zebras and lions.

We spend the days doing game drives in the park. With our 4×4 vehicle we drive along the Luangwa river, where most of the animals are during the dry season (June to November). The park is also famous for its big hippo families and the high leopard density.

We either sleep in a bush camp at the Luangwa River or in big comfortable safari tents.

Day 14: Departure

Transfer to the airport and flight back to Europe.
