Itinerary*
Day 1 Arusha – Tarangire National Park
After your arrival at the airport or your breakfast at your respective hotel, you will be collected from your point of departure. Following a short briefing and after loading the luggage into the vehicle, you will be off in the direction of theTarangireNational Park. This park has diverse landscapes and the variety of wildlife is undoubtedly one of the most attractive in northernTanzania. Along with the largest elephant population inEast Africa, it is also the home to many different large cats such as lions, leopards and cheetahs and you will also see plenty of giraffes, buffalos, zebras and various types of antelopes and gazelles. The late afternoon as well as the following morning will be spend in the national parks with plenty of time for wildlife watching. You will stay overnight in tents.

Day 2 Tarangire National Park – Lake Natron
After breakfast, you will leave TarangireNational Parkand head in the direction of Mto wa Mbu. Via exciting tracks along the Rift Valley Escarpment, you will travel toLakeNatron. This route is an ‘insider’s tip’ and has only recently been opened up to tourists. After passing Maasai villages, you will then travel on to the famous mountains of the Rift Valley; Mount Gelai or the Oldonyo Lengai ‘the holy mountain of the Maasai’. Today’s destination is the beautiful small Maasai village of Ngare Sero. With its trees offering shade and a nearby waterfall, it is just what an oasis should be in the hot, dry and dusty Rift Valley. In the distance, a pink glow shimmers from thousand of flamingos breeding on the alkalineLakeNatron. You will stay overnight at a campsite near to the lake itself.

Day 3 Lake Natron – Serengeti Lobo Area
After an early start, you will travel along exciting dirt tracks with wondrous views as your vehicle climbs out of the Rift Valley to reach the wide-open plains of the Serengeti by midday. The Serengeti is the most famous park inTanzaniaas it is home to the largest animal migration on the planet. The migrating animals are free to roam where they please and are not confined solely to the park boundaries. However, it has been witnessed that they are straying further afield and to this date, the wildlife watching can only be described of as spectacular. You will stay overnight at a campsite in theSerengetiNational Park.

Day 4 Serengeti Seronera Area
After an early start, you will participate in an early morning wildlife tour. Back at camp, a hearty breakfast will be waiting for you, which will be followed by further wildlife watching in the Seronera Valley. You will stay overnight at a camping place in theSerengetiNational Park.

Day 5 Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Conservation Area
The morning is set aside for further wildlife watching in the Serengeti. After midday, you will leave the plains and travel to the Ngorongoro Crater. You will camp at a campsite directly on the crater’s edge, which affords a view that is just simply jaw dropping.

Day 6 Ngorongoro Crater – Mto wa Mbu
You will have breakfast at dawn before travelling down the seemingly hanging walls into the crater below. Here, within a fewer square kilometres, you can find practically the complete cross section of all the animals that can be found on the entire East African savannah. Naturally, this is one of the best places to capture the magnificent but endangered black rhinoceros on film and experience some of the best wildlife watching available. After lunch, you will travel back towards Mto wa Mbu and stay overnight at a campsite not too far away.

Day 7 Mto wa Mbu – Arusha
After a late breakfast, you will start your journey back to Arusha. AtLakeManyara, you will leave the crater highlands behind and your vehicle will descend the steep slopes into the Rift Valley below. You will once again get the chance to view the imposing scenery of the East African graben or fault zone and you will return to Arusha by early afternoon.
