Our routeOn this safari we often go off the beaten track. Many of the areas visited do not have the infrastructure that you are accustomed to in Europe. Please take the itinerary from the map below.
Orange River Rafting Adventure in 6 daysWe experience the Orange River in the unique Richtersveld. The days are spend rafting down this quiet river with few dangerous rapids. We overnight next to the river under the African stars.
Day 1: Depart Cape TownAn early start takes us via the Cederberg Mountain range through Namaqualand (spectacular wildflowers in spring) to the Orange River, which is the border river to Namibia. The night is spent on the banks of the river.
Richtersveld
Day 2 – 4: Orange River AdventureThree magic days are spent going down the Orange River in either canoes or rafts. This is not a technically difficult river and everyone can just sit back and enjoy one of the last wilderness areas in Southern Africa. The days are spent rafting in the mornings and afternoons with a long lunch break where swimming and relaxing are the order of the day. We also undertake several hikes to explore the lunar landscape of the area along the river. Experience the Richtersveld, a mountain desert with a unique fauna and flora.
Day 5: Base CampAfter another morning on the river we drive back to our base camp on the Orange River.
Day 6: Cape TownAn early start takes us back to South Africa. We drive through Namaqualand, via the Cederberg Mountain range and arrive back in the mother-city in the late afternoon in time to see the sunset over Table Mountain.
