Our routeOn this safari we often go off the beaten track. Many of the areas visited do not have the infrastructure that you are accustomed to in Europe. Please take the itinerary from the map below.

Johannesburg to Livingstone in 14 DaysThis extraordinary tour explores the pristine wildlife sanctuaries of Botswana. We also experience the mighty Zambezi River at the famous Victoria Falls.
Day 1: Johannesburg to Tuli Block, South AfricaThe Botswana Safari starts with an early morning departure from Airport Game Lodge in Johannesburg. We drive into Botswana through the Limpopo Province. The night will be spend camping at Limpopo River Lodge. There will be a game drive either this evening or the next morning, depending on the time of arrival. The evening meal will be prepared by the guide.
Day 2: Khama Rhino Sanctuary, BotswanaToday we depart Tuli Block to drive to Khama Rhino Sanctuary. This park, based on a community wildlife project established in 1992, aims to save the vanishing white rhino, restore the wildlife area to its former natural state and provide economic benefits to the local community. In the afternoon, we do a game drive hoping to see some White Rhinos.
Day 3: Makgadikgadi Pans and Kubu IslandAfter breakfast, we drive north-west to Kubu Island Camp, via the wide-open uninhabited spaces of the Makgadikgadi Pans. If conditions allow, we will drive onto the Pans to have a closer look. When reaching our final stop at Kubu Island Camp, we spend the rest of the afternoon on a hike in the area and relaxing at camp.
Day 4 & 5: Maun and the Khwai RiverThis morning, we drive to Maun and the private concession of the Khwai River to set up camp at Mankwe Lodge. A night game drive in the concession will give us the opportunity to spot a variety of nocturnal animals. The next day, a whole day will be spend in the bush of the Khwai area. Here we will go on a game drive and have a picnic-lunch in the wilderness. A variety of game can be spotted in this region, with some luck even the Big Five.
Day 6: Moremi Game ReserveAfter breakfast, we drive into the famous Moremi Game Reserve, which is described to be one of the most beautiful and varied reserves in Africa. A full day is spend in the unspoiled nature with an unbelievable concentration of wildlife. We spend the night camping in the reserve.
Day 7: Moremi Game ReserveToday we explore the thick vegetation of the Okavango Delta in traditional canoes known as Mokoros. This area within the Moremi Reserve has a variety of birds and wildlife and we might even spot elephants, waterbuck and other animals. Unlike other Delta’s in the world, it flows into the Kalahari Desert without reaching the coast, which makes it unique. At night, we have the opportunity to sit around the campfire at our basic camping spot in the reserve, with sounds of the wilderness around us.
Day 8: Savuti Game ReserveToday we leave the Moremi Game Reserve after breakfast and drive to the Savuti Game Reserve, which is often described to be the best wildlife-viewing area of the whole of Africa. Many species of animals inhabit this park, including zebra, giraffe, elephant, sable and roan antelope, wildebeest, buffalo, lion, eland, hyaena, impala, kudu, jackal, warthog, waterbuck, bat-eared fox, wild dog, cheetah and a large variety of birds.
Day 9 & 10: Chobe National ParkAfter breakfast, we drive to Chobe National Park, one of the main highlights in Botswana. We spend two days exploring the park’s abundant wildlife on several game drives. With a bit of luck, we might even spot some lions. The night is spend basic camping in the reserve.
Day 11: Chobe National Park and KasaneIn the morning we do one more game drive in Chobe National Park, before we drive to Kasane. Here we will set up camp. In the afternoon, a sunset cruise on the Chobe River offers the opportunity to spot some elephants, hippos, lions, crocodiles and a great variety of birds.
Day 12 & 13: Victoria Waterfalls, ZambiaAfter breakfast we head for the ferry to cross the Zambezi River into Zambia. From there on, we head to Livingstone, were you will have the afternoon off to relax or enjoy some of the optional activities at the Zambezi Waterfront. Here you can try some White Water Rafting, Bungee Jumping or take in the spectacular scenery on a helicopter flight (own expense). The next day, we leave after breakfast for a guided walk to explore the mighty Victoria Waterfalls. The afternoon can be spend at leisure.
